If a player can win without losing any sheep, four stars are rewarded. In Invasion Mode, all UFOs are sent as quickly as possible, and the rounds have a bonus of +25% wool. In Normal Mode, there is a set number of enemy waves to destroy and UFOs arrive in intervals. There are currently three game modes: Normal, Invasion and Classic. This can be used to unlock additional towers and tower levels in Xen’s Laboratory, the in-game shop. Wool, the in-game currency, is rewarded for completing or failing each map. Without Invasion Mode enabled, the highest possible stars earned are three. Stars rate how well a player did on each map based on how many sheep were saved, with the highest being four stars for completing a map with no sheep lost and with Invasion Mode enabled. Once all waves of enemies are destroyed or all sheep have been abducted, the game ends and you earn a certain number of stars and wool. Each enemy destroyed provides the player with more in-game coins to build new towers and upgrade existing towers. The player destroys the aliens by building towers. The goal of each alien is to abduct one sheep. Each wave arrives in intervals, or all waves can be sent at once if Invasion Mode is enabled. UFOs drop invading aliens on landing pads and the waves of enemies make their way to the base to abduct the sheep. But, if you want an exhaustive review, check out Touch Arcade, and no offense to them, but who cares if there’s not much innovation in the new game? It still is a loadful of fun.The objective in TowerMadness 2 is to defend a base filled with a flock of sheep from waves of aliens by destroying the aliens with diverse weapons in the form of towers. This is by no means meant to be a comprehensive review of the game, because I think it’s so awesome that you should just shell out the couple of bucks it costs. The maps, of course, are different and can be quite frustrating!Īnd, if you tend to like being challenged by your friends, you’ll love the fact that each map shows just how you fared against them in terms of time spent in a map – highlighted very well. The weapons in TowerMadness 2 are not all that different from the first game, albeit with a few variations. You need to choose weapons appropriately and place them in the field wisely so the enemy – aliens – gets butchered as they try to reach your keep. You have something to protect – in this case, sheep. Gameplay wise, it does not differ from most other tower defense games. What takes more getting used to is the level of difficulty of the game. That actually takes some getting used to, but it does not take very long. If you’ve played the first version, you will see very noticeable differences, especially with the graphics. I’ve long been a fan of TowerMadness by Limbic Software, and when they released the second version of the game, purchasing it was a no brainer. But at the end of the day, you feel awesome when you kill off those aliens, Vikings, monsters, or whatever nature the enemy takes on. Frustration-wise, it might just be the end of your sanity as well. Whatever version of the game, you just can’t lose with tower defense. Fans of tower defense games will no doubt agree with me that there is always time for another tower defense game.
